He is a Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, Machakos University and currently the Dean, School of Business and Economics.

Previous University administrative positions held on appointment include:
(a) Dean, School of Business and Economics, South Eastern Kenya University

(b) Deputy Director in Charge of programmes, Kenyatta University City Centre Campus

(c) Pioneer Chairman, Department of Economic Theory, School of Economics, Kenyatta University

He has a vast research experience in the fields of policy shift and impact on macro variables, Education financing and access and Agriculture. In addition, he has supervised 13 PhD students to completion and several masters students. He has also published widely in peer refereed journals and is a member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and World Economics Association(WEA).
